I have always been a pretty fit and athletic person but last year after major surgery and a month off my feet I was pretty much back to square one and needed help getting back into shape.
I've had personal trainers before and I'll tell you that you can go anywhere and find someone willing to pat you on the back and tell you you're doing a great job and take your $$ but here you will work hard and while everyone is nice and professional you will be expected to make a real effort. The results are fast and very worth it. I am fitter than I have been in years and the results are amazing. Joel is a lot of fun to work with and his routines are well-thought out and effective; and Diane has the rare ability to kick your butt and make you laugh. Following rehabilitation from paralysis from a motorcycle crash in 1985 I have been a handicapped person. I struggled for years with fear and doubt about being able to perform certain movements. Joel not only showed me that I could but also coached me mentally as well as physically. He some how intuitively knows how far I can go. He knows how much weight or number of repetitions to drive me hard but not so hard that it goes outside of my physical constraints. At 51 years of age, I am headed for being in the best shape of my life and loving every minute of it. The personalized work out plan and food plan is simply the cat’s pajamas! I have been a regular at Griffin Fitness almost since they first opened. I was recovering from a back surgery and wanted to get myself in the position that it won’t happen again. I have been treated with knowledgeable trainers, who listen to me, and any limitations that I may have, they are able to work around these areas and still get me to be fit. My expectations were modest, and I have improved beyond my expectations. I am in better condition and strength than I was 20 years ago! Since I made a commitment to get more fit I have lost weight, gained strength and people tell me I look great too! I recommend this type of training over joining a "gym" any day. This is much better than trying to do it on your own.

I am doing the Beach Body Boot Camp and I definitely see improvements made on my body. They push you hard but also give you positive feedback when they see your efforts. Griffin Fitness's slogan..."Forcing you to be fit!" is true as far as this class is concerned. It is a great work out and they provide a good healthy diet to follow and report on. I'm very glad I signed up with them and I'm excited to see the end results.

I have been training with Lisa McVeigh at Griffin Fitness for about 6 months or so. The atmosphere at their facility is relaxed, yet very focused. I feel encouraged to do my best and the results to date have been most positive. I am much stronger and can definitely see vastly improved tone and definition throughout my entire body. The staff there work as a team and if your particular trainer has a conflict you can feel confident that your workout will not change or diminish with a substitute. The customized routines are frequently changed in order to ensure you work all of your muscle groups to their potential.
I am very happy with Griffin Fitness and would highly recommend them to anyone who wishes to get into an exercise routine with immediate results.

I started at Griffin Fitness shortly after the business opened. It was just 8-9 months after lower back surgery to repair a ruptured disk. The trainers evaluated me and developed programs to protect my back as well as strengthen my body so that I wouldn’t injure myself again. After careful progression I am now in better shape and strength than I was 20 years ago (I am 57 years old). I also started bicycle riding a bit over 4 years go to improve my cardiovascular fitness. I can now ride my bicycle up Mount Diablo or do 100 mile rides and I do not have back pain. I can also feel comfortable working around the house with projects that require strength or lifting without fear of injury, thanks to having the strength to do it with good cores strength. At all times, Griffin Fitness listened to my needs and have always been cognizant of any problems like sore legs from riding or any other issues. I know I need the workouts to keep me healthy.
